Polybutylene piping is a grey color pipe that was used in the 80’s and 90’s for residential homes, it was very inexpensive and use to install. It became popular plumbing contractors for it’s price and speed of installation.

They pipes were meant to last 40 to 50yrs but, soon we learned the life span was more like 10 to 15 years, this created Hugh problems in the construction and insurance industries.

Insurance companies were started to realize the issues, and started charging higher premiums and denying claims .

Replacement cost were high and heating boiler systems were a problem, it shorten their lives and leakages were occurring.
